With the increasing presence and influence of technology in our lives, teachers are constantly searching for ways in which to focus students’ attention and exploit their digital know-how. Today’s seminar aims therefore to support teachers in the challenge to attract and motivate their students both inside the classroom and outside in the real world. We’ll be looking at straightforward yet effective ways of enhancing all types of language lessons, from general courses to literature to exams, using the basic instruments offered by most IWB software packages as well as offering practical solutions and activities to engage and stimulate students with special attention given to how they can be adapted quickly and easily.

First Session
- Straightforward yet effective ways of enhancing all types of language lessons, from general courses to literature and exams, using the tools present in the new generation of offline ebooks, available to both students and teachers
- Practical solutions and activities, for example the creation of mind maps, to engage and stimulate all students with special attention given to how they can be adapted easily and quickly
Second Session
- Following a showcase of the latest offline, ready-made digital materials, the session will close by having a quick look at some of the websites which are attracting particular attention in the world of language teaching
Objectives
- To use new technologies to motivate and engage students
- To provide teachers with strategies and practical resources for their lessons
- To demonstrate simple and effective ways to enhance traditional lesson.
